Breakfast with Santa

A much delayed post--with an overdue Christmas post to come.  On December 10, we went with friends to Breakfast with Santa at the zoo.  First, we ate breakfast.  Then, Santa made his entrance. Although B had talked up Santa big, he immediately began crying (as did his friend).  He was curious to approach Santa, but was not happy to sit in his lap by himself. He was happy, however, to sit with his cousin and to explore the zoo with his friend.  A few photos taken by my friend Amanda are below:

Not much eating got done after Santa made his entrance.  Below is B with his cousin and Santa:

And then there was the fun of walking around the zoo. It was cold, but we all had fun!

And my favorite of the morning:
We had a great time and will definitely go back next year!

Zoolight Safari

On Wednesday night, we headed out to Zoolight Safari.  It was our first go-round with this event, and we had mild weather (60 degrees) and a good time!!
First, we ate at the zoo cafe--and B loved looking at the Christmas tree:
Next, we headed to the carousel. Unlike EVERY other time we'd been to the zoo, B DID NOT like the carousel. He cried the entire time. No photos!
So we admired the lights and headed to the zoo choo. B had a great time on the zoo choo and loved looking at lights (and seeing Santa along the way)!

I was pretty impressed with the lights, but my photos--not so impressive:

We headed home soon after. Now we are just waiting for Santa:
B is saying, "Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas!" He's wishing for "a digger" and a "choo choo." We'll have to see what Santa brings. B certainly has been a good boy!

Christmas Round One

This past weekend, we traveled to Georgia for a Christmas celebration with my mom's family.  We were especially glad to see Bea, my 91-year-old grandmother.  B really enjoyed playing with Lily, my cousin's 4-year-old daughter:
He especially loved the "hot dog," which was the missing leg of one of Lily's Barbies:
He loved opening presents and playing with his uncle Drew, too:

The trip was not without its drama, however.  Due to circumstances beyond his control (as he would say), H managed to leave Ollie, B's lovey, at a Picadilly restaurant in a bad part of Atlanta.  We survived Friday night without him and managed to get him on the way back Saturday.

This week: finish up work/school, Zoolight Safari, caroling with the neighbors, and getting ready for Christmas!
